I’m not really sure how I managed to accumulate so many books in June, but I did. It happened. And this is on top of everything I hauled from ALA – that post is coming soon, I promise! Twitter has spoken, and they want that post.
But back to this specific haul – I have no idea where any of these books are going to go. I think it might be time for another unhaul, because oh my god, I’m out of shelf space.
I’m super excited for all of these, some I’ve already read, and acquired for collection purposes, but the majority are books that I’ve never read, but have been interested in for quite a while and I’m so excited to finally have them in my possession. Hopefully they won’t sit on my shelf unread for years to come LOL. I didn’t spend a lot of money, despite the sheer size of this haul – many of the books were from Books For Trade on Twitter, for the cost of shipping, others were discount books from a used book store, and only a handful were bought full price. So, while it’s a lot, my wallet isn’t hurting too badly.
Anyways, let’s look at the books I hauled in June!
*Side note – I’m going to be doing this post a little different than past Haul post, due to the sheer number of books. I’m going to forgo the book synopsis, otherwise this post is going to be so incredibly long. I’m also going to group by author.
Ignite (Defy #2) – Sara B. Larson
Endure (Defy #3) – Sara B. Larson
ARCs
I love this trilogy by Sara – it was the first time I’d seen a character with my name. A few months ago I managed to snag an ARC copy of the first book Defy and when these two ARC copies became available, I knew I had to grab them for my collection.
Ink, Iron, and Glass (Ink, Iron, and Glass #1) – Gwendolyn Clare
Mist, Metal, and Ash (Ink, Iron, and Glass #1) – Gwendolyn Clare
ARCs
I haven’t yet had a chance to read this duology, but I sounds really good, and it doesn’t hurt that the covers are gorgeous. So when they popped up on the tag for the cost of shipping, I couldn’t pass them up.
Oath Taker (Kingdom of Runes #1) – Audrey Grey
Paperback
I definitely bought this based on the fact that I read another book this author co-authored and based on the cover and the synopsis. It sounds amazing and I’m actually dying to read it!
Royal Bastards (Royal Bastards #1) – Andrew Shvarts
ARC
I’d heard nothing but good things about this series from a few people on Twitter, so when this popped up on the tag for shipping, I knew I needed to grab it. I’m hoping the people of Twitter haven’t led me astray.
Shadow Run (Kaitan Chronicles #1) – AdriAnne Strickland & Michael Miller
ARC
Ugh, this has been on my “Need to Buy” list for forever, and I’ve never gotten around to it. Don’t ask why, because I don’t actually know. Now I have a copy and I really cannot wait to get into it. I’ve heard good things about it, so I’m excited. I’m always down for sci-fi, and especially spaceship sci-fi – which YA needs more of.
Sky Without Stars (System Divine #1) – Jessica Brody & Joanne Rendell
ARC
Les Mis in space? Hell yes. This is a beast of a book, but I cannot wait to dive into it. It sounds really interesting and good, and hopefully I can get to it soon.
Storm and Fury (The Harbinger #1) – Jennifer L. Armentrout
If There’s No Tomorrow – Jennifer L. Armentrout
Hardcover / ARC
I’ve already read Story & Fury and loved it, and while I actually haven’t read If There’s No Tomorrow a friend was kind enough to give me an ARC to accompany my hardcover copy for my JLA collection.
Sorcery of Thorns – Margaret Rogerson
Owlcrate Exclusive Cover
Ugh, I haven’t had a chance to read this yet and I’m not happy about that fact. I’m dying to read this as I’ve heard nothing but amazing things and the cover is absolutely gorgeous!
Nyxia (The Nyxia Triad #1) – Scott Reintgen
ARC
A fellow blogger was willing to send me an ARC copy of this book after having seen the author’s next release. I didn’t realize that he also wrote Nyxia and I’m really interested in finding out if the hype lives up. It sounds really interesting and I’m always down for sci-fi!
Call It What You Want – Brigid Kemmerer
A Curse so Dark and Lonely (Cursebreakers #1) – Brigid Kemmerer
Hardcover / FairyLoot Exclusive Edition
I’ve read both of these books, and have full reviews up for them, so I won’t go into a lot of detail, but both of these books are amazing, as is everything Brigid writes. If you haven’t already, make sure you pick both of these books up and dive in!
The Beholder – Anna Bright
Hardcover
This book! I was fortunate enough to be able to read it early, and I loved it! If you haven’t yet read Anna’s debut, you’re missing out big time! I’m super excited for book 2 – out next year.
Heart of Thorns (Heart of Thorns #1) – Bree Barton
Fairyloot Exclusive Edition (I think)
I was in a Half-Price Books and saw this, it’s signed, with red stained edges, and it sounds interesting. And for the price, I grabbed it. Definitely wasn’t on my list of books to buy, but it was too good of a find to pass up.
Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles #1) – Kresley Cole
Endless Knight (The Arcana Chronicles #2)– Kresley Cole
Dead of Winter (The Arcana Chronicles #3) – Kresley Cole
Day Zero (The Arcana Chronicles #3.5) – Kresley Cole
Arcana Rising (The Arcana Chronicles #4) – Kresley Cole
Paperbacks
GR / GR / GR / GR / GR / Review
I used to have the first three books in hardcover, but when I found out that the last two were only coming out in paperback, I gave them away – not to mention that the covers don’t match after book 2. I was in a Half-Price Books and the first five were in there for a price I couldn’t pass up, so I bought them. I love these books and are definite binge books and the audiobooks are amazing. Check them out if you haven’t already!
Phew! That was a lot. I’m sorry. I hope that all the books I haven’t had a chance to read are amazing and I hope that I can get to them soon. July is going to be a definite Book Buying Ban Month. If you have read any of these books, let me know in the comments!
whoa that’s a lot of books! O.o Lots of people on my TL are talking about the Arcana chronicles so I may give it a try! (Also Heart of Thorns is beautiful wow)

It is quite a gorgeous cover! Tbh it wasn’t high on my list, but I just couldn’t pass it up for the price I paid.
And as for the Arcana Chronicles – DOOO ITTT! But maybe acquire all the books before you dive in! They are very easily bingeable, and the audible versions are fantastic. They’re definitely easy books to get lost in and you’ll probably fall in love with Evie, Death and Jack!
