NaNoWriMo 2019

Happy National Novel Writing Month!

Today is Day 1 and by the time you are reading this – I still haven’t written anything. My goal for today is 2,000 words. I liked to start off hitting higher numbers than the recommended daily average of about 1,700 since I know I tend to slack off towards the end.

Since it’s only Day 1 and there isn’t anything to update, this post is going to be short and sweet! I just wanted to pop on here really quick and say ‘Hi’ and “Good Luck’!

I also wanted to just do a little goal list for myself –

Day 1:

I hope to write the first chapter and introduce at least 2/4 characters.

As a separate note, I also want to make a quick list of a few key scenes that I need/want to happen in the book. Not so much an outline, as just things I need to be able to build to.

This one is really basic because while I have all these grand ideas of who these characters are, and how I envision the story starting, I have no idea if that’s how it’ll actually pan out. The trials of being a pantser. This is also Draft 0 of this story, so I’m going to be very forgiving.

Anyways, the time has come! It’s time to crank out 50k in 30 days, and like always, it’s going to drive me nuts and test my patience! I’m looking forward to it though. I’m ready to meet these characters and see what they’re up to.

I’ll check back in next Friday with my first official update post, but I’m going to try and update daily on my Insta Stories, so you can follow me there for more regular posts and on Twitter.  And, feel free to add me as a buddy on the NaNoWriMo site – lexacourntey on all platforms! *I’ve linked Instagram and Twitter for easy access!
