Stuck At Home Book Tag

img_0631Ironically, I’m not actually at home. I’m at the beach staying in a family members private beach house, with a private beach. I’ve plopped my butt in a beach chair, had one too many mimosas, and I’ve been reading and listening to the sounds of the waves crashing. It’s been wonderful, and I don’t have to worry about being sociable to family members I can just get lost in fictional worlds, with amazing characters.

But, with that being said, Sammy over at We Write At Dawn nominated me to do this tag, and therefore, I’m going to. I’m probably a lot behind on the times, but better late than never! Make sure you go and check out her responses and give her post some love! I also had nothing else planned for today’s post, so it works out! I’m always down to do a fun book tag!

I’m going to leave it up to you if you want to do this tag. But if you do, leave a comment down below so I can check out your answers!

A BOOK YOU’VE BEEN MEANING TO READ FOR FOREVER.

Well, my TBR is probably a million books long at this point, so this is kind of a hard answer. There are just so many, but I guess if I have to pick just one, Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. I tried listening to the audiobook for it when it first came out, and it put me to sleep. It’s such a big book, that I’m really not keen on carrying it around, but I do need to eventually read it.

AN INTIMIDATING BOOK ON YOUR TBR.

My answer is going to match Sammy’s – Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. So many people I know and trust their opinions have read this book/series and loved it. I don’t doubt that I’ll probably love it, but I do know that it’s a “multiple reads to get the whole picture” kind of deal and that requires a lot of effort. I’m also slightly terrified that it won’t live up to expectations, and if I don’t read it, I can’t be potentially let down.

TOP 3 PRIORITY BOOKS ON YOUR TBR.

Okay, we’re just going with some ARCs I have to read before their releases – As The Shadow Rises by Katy Rose Pool, Fable by Adrienne Young and Catalyst by Willow Anderson. There are other books that I really want to read, but I made a commitment to read the ARCs so they get priority right now.

RECOMMEND A SHORT BOOK.

How short are we talking about? Um, I’m not sure. My brain has gone blank and I don’t have my shelves to remind me. Are we talking short as in page count, or short as in how quickly can you binge the book? Y’all, my brain has legit gone blank. Uh, Flawed by Becky Bird. It’s short and it’s a quick read! If you like cute little contemporary rom com books, you’ll like that one.

RECOMMEND A LONG BOOK.

Uh, House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas. I mean, there are a bunch, and if that’s not your thing, then The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty. Both are excellent reads that transport you right into the world and both are going to take a little while to get through…unless you’re like me, and you just binge them. Also, if you find a series that has multiple books, and just binge them all right after one another, it feels like you’re just reading one long book, but you might put yourself into a reading slump – so do that at your own risk.

WHAT DO YOU PLAN ON READING NEXT?

I’m going to finish up Stay with Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout, as well as Catalyst by Willow Anderson. Then I’m going to start Fame, Fate and the First Kiss by Kasie West. I’ll probably also start one of my other 9/1 release ARCs. I’ve reached the point where I’m just currently reading a bunch of different books in an effort to get as many done as quickly as possible.

Thank you, Sammy, for tagging me! I really enjoyed this tag!

Again, let me know if you decide to do this tag – I really do want to see your responses!
