So, today’s post is going to be a little different!
I’ve teamed up with Sammy from We Write At Dawn to do the This or That Book Tag, but we did it with a twist.
I guessed Sammy’s answers! And over on her blog, she guessed mine!
We’ve been friends for over a year and a half – though it feels like I’ve known her my whole life – so we figured that we knew enough about each other and our reading preferences to be able to answer these questions. Even though, I did find it a tad hard!
Below my guesses for Sammy, are my own answers, but make sure you check out Sammy’s post to see her guesses before you check out my answers! If you want to see if my answers for Sammy are correct, make sure you head back over to her post to see her responses!
This was such a fun post to do, and I loved that Sammy was willing to do it with me!
I originally saw this over on KimberlyFaye Reads. You should check out Kim’s responses, I really enjoyed them!
WHAT I THINK SAMMY’S ANSWERS ARE:
Reading on the Couch or in Bed?
I think Sammy likes reading on the couch. She’s usually up during daylight hours (unlike me, lol) and working, so I feel like, the couch is a good bet. Hopefully I’m not wrong.
Male Main Character or Female Main Character?
Umm, I think she loves a good male character, but I know she’s all for a bad ass female character that can hold her own in a world dominated by men.
Sweet Snacks or Salty While Reading?
Sweet. Anytime I’ve gotten together with Sammy to write or read, I always see her with something sweet.
Trilogies or Quartets?
Trilogies. Easy. I know she’s always down for a good 3 story arc.
First Person POV or Third Person?
I think she prefers First Person.
Reading at Night or in the Morning?
She’s more of a morning person, so I’m gonna guess morning. Though, like me, she’s been known to stay up late reading.
Libraries or Bookstores?
This one is easy. Bookstores. She used to work for Barnes and Nobles. She’s like me and has very little self-control and needs to buy all the books.
Books that make you Laugh or books that make you Cry?
I think Sammy likes books that make you laugh more.
Black Book Covers or White Book Cover?
Dark/Black covers, since YA is predominately dark/black covers. BUT I do know that some of her favorite covers are much lighter.
Character Driven or Plot Driven Stories?
Character Driven. Like me, Sammy, is a sucker for well thought out characters that make you feel everything.

MY ANSWERS:
Reading on the Couch or in Bed?
Couch. I just find it more comfortable. Unless
Male Main Character or Female Main Character?
Dependent on mood and the book, honestly. But I love a good male MC, but a badass female character is always a plus and a selling point.
Sweet Snacks or Salty While Reading?
Salty. Chips, popcorn…really anything. Though, I’m always happy with a cup of coffee as well.
Trilogies or Quartets?
Trilogies, for the most part. But I do think that sometimes, series that are trilogies often lag in book 2, and then the endings aren’t necessarily satisfying.
First Person POV or Third Person?
First, though high fantasy is often really good in third. But I write in First and it adds a more personal element to the character and the story.
Reading at Night or in the Morning?
I’m a Night Owl and hate mornings. The only time I read in the morning is when I’ve stayed up all night reading, and the sun is streaming in through my blinds.
Libraries or Bookstores?
Bookstores. I love being able to go to a bookstore and browse. I also have no self-control and love buying books that I don’t need, but really want.
Books that make you Laugh or books that make you Cry?
Both? I want both. I want the cute, funny moments, but if you give me a super emotional scene, I’m here for that also.
Black Book Covers or White Book Cover?
Let’s be real, black book covers or at least dark book covers are overly present in YA. So I don’t really think it’s a preference. But I will say that the one time I saw a white cover amidst all the dark covers, it stood out, I bought it and loved it. I don’t think I can really choose.
Character Driven or Plot Driven Stories?
I love a good Character Driven story. It’s often easy to get lost in and wholly enjoyable. I can ignore some issues if the plot isn’t super strong, but again, I think I like a good mixture of both. If you can get me fully loving your characters, 9/10 I’m going to enjoy your book.
How well did we do?
Were our answers right? Were we close?
This is cute! What a great idea to guess each others answers. So were you right on most or all of them? I tried to visit the site but the link at the top sent me to a “Page Not Found.” 🤷♀️
Your guesses match almost all of my same answers. Except I wouldn’t be able to choose between salty or sweet snacks. Usually it’s both, one right after the other. Also I prefer reading both in the morning and at night (preferably when my son is asleep and I actually can hah!) Oh and also colored covers. There are just so many nice colors to see!
Great post!

Thanks! And thank you for letting me know about the link! I went in and fixed it, so it should be working now! Idk why this post has been acting up.
We wanted to do a “guest post” Of sorts and we decided on a tag.
I love that your answers are similar! And any time reading moments can be stolen are a good thing! Gotta get those books read! 🤗
