Today’s post isn’t what I had planned, but it’s been a week from hell at work, and I didn’t get a chance to finish the post that I wanted to put up.
A few weeks ago, I applied to be a part of Crystal Smith’s Bloodleaf/Greythorne Street Team. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I read Bloodleaf last year and loved it, and then back in February I read Greythorne and it blew me out of the water.
You can check out both of my reviews here:
Book Review: Bloodleaf (Bloodleaf #1)
Book Review: Greythorne (Bloodleaf #2)
So, when I got an email saying I was a part of the Street Team, I was really excited. I still think about Greythorne and what Crystal did in that book, and it’s one of my favorite reads of the year.

Being a part of her Street Team came with some challenges to help boost the hype for Greythorne which comes out September 1 and it should really be on your TBR. I promise you won’t want to miss it.
I’ve already shared my responses to these challenges over on Twitter, but I thought I would share them on here as well – simply because I’m so damn excited for this book. I’ve already preordered my copy and I cannot wait for it to get here.
But, let’s jump into these challenges and hopefully I can convince you to jump on the Bloodleaf Bandwagon!

Challenge #1: Bloodleaf Appreciation!
I think it’s pretty clear that Aurelia is my favorite character in this series. She’s badass and willing to undertake anything.
Aurelia is a princess, but they call her a witch.
Surrounded by spirits and burdened with forbidden magic, she lives in constant fear of discovery by the witch-hunting Tribunal and their bloodthirsty mobs. When a devastating assassination attempt reveals her magical abilities, Aurelia is forced to flee her country with nothing but her life.
Alone and adrift in an enemy kingdom, Aurelia plans her revenge against the Tribunal, desperate to bring down the dark organization that has wrought terror upon her people for hundreds of years. But there’s something deeply amiss in her new home, too, and soon she finds herself swept into a deadly new mystery with a secretive prince, the ghost of an ancient queen, and a poison vine called Bloodleaf.
Aurelia is entangled in a centuries-long game of love, power, and war, and if she can’t break free before the Tribunal makes its last move, she may lose far more than her crown.

Challenge #2: Something You’re Most Excited About Greythorne!
I read this AMAZING book back in March, and omfg the entire ending. The whole book, but that Ending…Crystal outdid herself.
Princess Aurelia’s life is upended when the kingdom she thought she saved falls to ruin, a loved one is tragically killed in a shipwreck, and her home country turns against her. With no place left to call her own, Aurelia returns to Greythorne Manor—her best friend’s family mansion—only to find that Greythorne has sinister secrets of its own. With enemies closing in on all sides, Aurelia is caught in a mad fight to protect the only people she has left—her family. In her darkest moments, when all seems grim, will Aurelia find a spark of hope from a love she thought long lost?

Challenge #3: Fancast!
Isabel May – I’ve seen her acting, and I think she’d do Aurelia and her journey justice. Watching her in Netflix’s Alexa & Katie – I loved her acting and personality. While her character in the show is a lot perkier than Aurelia, I think she has the talent and skills to pull off heavier, fantastical, slightly darker role.

Challenge #4: Perfect Playlist!
“Orchestra” by Drew Ryn
Okay, I first found this song on Tik Tok, and then there was a music video release, and the minute the song became available I bought it. It’s so good and the chorus is phenomenal. The artist took 3 random words – opposed, chest and orchestra – and created a whole song that is just so enjoyable and so addicting to listen to. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to it on repeat. I’ve lost count, I love it so much. #Bloodleafersplaylist #Countdown2Greythorne

Challenge #5: Fan Art!
When Strawberries come in clutch…As much as I adore the new illustrated covers, the OG one looks so badass in black, white and red. I honestly wasn’t sure what I was going to do for this challenge, and I kind of just pulled this off in fifteen minutes. I wish I could draw people, but alas, that’s never been the kind of art I was good at. #BLFanArt #Countdown2Greythorne

Challenge #6: Preorder Goodies!
Guess what! If you’re like me, and desperately waiting for Greythorne to be released so you can have a FC, then you should definitely check out the pre-order incentive! You get 4 holographic. character cards and an Aurelia Cameo! I mean, how could you not want these gorgeous items. I cannot wait for mine to arrive in the mail. I’m anxiously waiting. #Countdown2Greythorne
These were so fun to do – though, I did struggle with the fanart one a bit. I wasn’t sure what to do for it, so I kind of just whipped that up? I also was at the beach and lacking anything to color, so strawberries worked in my favor. I’m also terrible at Fancasts…my brain doesn’t do them very well? I can never really decide, or I don’t think anyone is good enough.
I hope you liked this post! It wasn’t what I had planned, but I can’t skip an opportunity to promote this series, these books, because they’re so damn good! Make sure you follow Crystal on Twitter – @crysrensmith – and make sure you preorder Greythorne!
This post definitely got me interested in this series lol thank you:)
