The Book-Ademy Awards Book Tag

Maybe it’s a little early towards the end of the year to do a book awards tag, but it’s almost the end of November and I’ve read almost 150 books in 2020. So, I think I have enough books to pull from to answer these prompts/questions.

I stumbled across this tag on YaBooksGirl and I loved Michella’s answers and felt inclined to do the tag myself! I hope you check out her post and if you’re interested, feel free to do this tag as well!

2020 has been the year to read books, so let’s jump into this!

Most Kick Butt Heroine

Rielle from the Blade and Rose series – the sheer amount of shit she goes through to come out on the other side still standing and stronger than ever. Respect.

Most Swoon-Worthy Male Character

Luc from the Origin Series. I mean, if you like Daemon, then you’ll absolutely love Luc.

Most Swoon-Worthy Female Character

Lydia from Dark Skies – her journey in this book is so good and so satisfying.

Best Star-Crossed Lovers

Aliesse and Bastien from Bone Crier’s Moon. I freaking loved them and this book.

Best Surprise

Greythorne. It’s been months since I read this, and the ending still blows me away.

Best Fairy Tale Retelling

The Raven the Dove – does a retelling of Tristan and Isolde count as a fairytale? Oh well, this book was so damn good, and I can’t wait to read the second one!

Best “Didn’t Expect to Like It, but Loved It” Book

Chosen Ones – I knew it had pretty good reviews, but I’m often wary of hype so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this.

Best Sidekick or Bestie

Kieran from From Blood and Ash and Kingdom of Flesh and Fire. He’s perfect and wonderful and I love him.

Best Debut Author Book

Shielded – I figured this was going to be good, I just didn’t expect it to become a favorite and the desperate need for the second book.

Best Seasoned Author Book
House of Earth and Blood – I honestly didn’t know SJM could write a book that would top the ACOTAR or TOG books.

Best “little known” Book

The Queen of Cursed Things – This book was such a surprise and I was immediately hooked and upon finishing the first one, I started the second.

Best Cover

To Sleep In A Sea of Stars – I’m so deprived for sci-fi and this book really didn’t disappoint. And I just love the color scheme for this book and how simple yet compelling it is.

Best Series:

Best Series That Ended This Year

The Davaebad Triloy – granted I started and finished it this year, but omfg. Still not over this series.

Best Series That Started This Year

This might be a tie between The Obsidian Tower (Rooks and Ruin) and Where Dreams Descend (Kingdom of Cards) – both of these first books were so good and I’m dying for the next ones.

Best Book

Well, I’ve been sitting here for god knows how long and I honestly cannot choose. It’s like asking what my favorite book is. There are too many too choose from, so I’m respectively leaving this blank, because I legitimately cannot choose. The majority of the books I’ve read have been 4-5 stars, with very few lower rated ones…also my best book of 2020 could still come. So, I’m going to leave this blank, but let me know if you have a favorite book of 2020!

I’m not tagging anyone specific, so if you feel like doing the tag – I highly encourage it! And if you do, please tag me so I can check out your responses!
