This will be a spoiler free review. Thank you so, so much to Brigid for gifting me a copy of this book. I’ve been a longtime fan and being able to read and review this early is so exciting and I’m so beyond grateful. If you want to know my thoughts on A Curse So Dark and Lonely and A Heart So Fierce and Broken you can check out my reviews here and here (respectively). You can also check out my excerpt review for VOW – though, I’m pretty sure my thoughts haven’t changed.

*inhales*

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH

I’m not okay, loved the ending, Brigid crushed my heart a few times, omfg wtf, Grey gets hotter, Rhen needs a hug, Harper is a MFing badass and Lia Mara is perfect.

I need more.

That’s it. That’s the review. I honestly don’t know what else to say.

But in all seriousness.

I really just want to chuck this book at you, but sadly it’s not out yet, so that’s currently not possible. Luckily, the wait isn’t too long now!

Also, the characters go through so much, that it might be a tad too mean to chuck them through the air at your face. I honestly don’t know if Rhen could take it.

You *might* have to bear with me with this review, because omfg. More than once while reading this book I was left utterly speechless, blown away, too emotional to form words beyond wanting to scream and then dissolve into tears. I can’t believe I’ve finished the book; it feels a bit surreal. I’ve been waiting for it for so long – to see how it all comes to a close – that now I don’t know what to do with myself. I’m at a loss.

An utter loss.

This book was just so good. I took notes while I was reading it – which I don’t usually do – but I knew I was going to have reactions. I also knew that I would be texting Brigid those reactions because how could I not? And I did. And some of her answers did not help my anxiety while reading the book lol.

God. This book.

Honestly, I don’t think I could have asked for a better ending. You know how Brigid keeps saying that she gave each character the ending they deserved?

Yes. I wholeheartedly agree and I loved the culmination of each of their arcs. But I also loved that while this book definitely completes the arcs, it leaves enough open for a potential spin off, or continuation. And honestly, I’m totally here for it. I need more. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to Grey yet – especially with that reveal towards the end. I need to see his future. Need.

As much as I love Grey, Rhen stole my heart in this book. That poor, poor boy. Though he had moments of being a colossal jerk, I could understand why he acted the way he did. Not excusing some of his shittier behavior, but I get it. But overall, he has it the worst. Like, actually the worst and someone just needs to hold him and run their fingers through his hair. He needs comfort and my heart hurt for him on so many occasions.

But back to Grey really quick – after seeing him find himself and come to terms with who he is and what he wants in HEART, watching him in this book was *chef’s kiss*. He’s a natural and *ahem* the mild spicy scenes…to be alone in a room with Commander Grey…yes please. Lia Mara is one lucky girl. There were other scenes that had me going, omfg Scary Grey is back, and I loved it.

As for Lia Mara, girl is a badass in her own right, but I loved seeing her struggle. I know that sounds weird, but watching her step into her role, embrace it and by the end…phew. It was satisfying as hell. And her moments with Grey, how he always supports her…God Tier shit right there.

Oh, Harper. I fucking love Harper to bits. She takes no shit and there were quite a few times where my jaw was on the damn floor and I was *shocked*. Like, omfg she did that. She did that. She did things that other characters have been trying to do for fucking forever and she DID THAT. I can’t even begin to explain how satisfying those scenes were without spoiling.

I’m still 100% in love with Tycho. I would die for him. Jake and Noah are still wonderful, and I still love them. Jake and Harper’s relationship is still so good and there’s a moment where Noah had me chuckling. Nolla Verin was annoying tbh, and I wish Lia Mara had put her in her place sooner.

As for the plot – expect an emotional rollercoaster. Just expect it. Expect Brigid to break your heart a couple of times but trust her to put it back together. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better ending. It’s so satisfying and worth it and the characters get what they need a deserve.

I don’t know what else to say. I want to talk about everything, but I won’t do spoilers. Know that I binged this book in about 5/6 hours because I couldn’t put it down. I went through a gauntlet of emotions and struggled to process certain scenes. I was legit text screaming at my friend who had just finished the book to discuss with her.

I’m so incredibly happy with this book and I love it so much. It does not disappoint and will leave you feeling content but also wanting more – though I always want more of Brigid’s books, her worlds, her characters. Now I really don’t know what to say, except read this book when it comes out. And if you haven’t yet started the Cursebreakers series, you need to rectify that right now. You have plenty of time before VOW comes out, so there is no excuse.
