The Holiday Drinks Book Tag

I was looking for a fun holiday themed tag to do – since I haven’t done a tag in a while – and I stumbled upon this one over at Way Too Fantasy. I’ve linked Lisa’s post with her answers, so make sure you head over and check them out!

This tag originated over at Waves of Pages – so make sure you go check out Ariel’s blog.

I thought this tag was so cute, and I’ve been drinking my fair share of hot chocolate so far this season, so it seemed fitting! So, let’s jump into it and see what books pop into mind!

Hot Chocolate: Marshmallows and chocolate and whipped cream, oh my! Recommend a book that’s sweet through and through.

I can’t actually think of a book that’s “sweet through and through” but since hot chocolate is a feel-good drink…Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout. It really doesn’t matter what JLA book, because to me, all her books are feel good. Even the ones that rip my heart out or leave me desperate for more.

Peppermint Mocha: The flavor of peppermint is strong and distinct. Recommend a book with a lot of strong emotions.

Tbh, not a peppermint in drinks fan, but um, House of Earth and Blood or To Sleep In A Sea of Stars. Both of these books absolutely emotionally wrecked me. I sobbed through the ending of House of Earth and Blood and nearly broke out into tears while at work.

Apple Cider: It’s so good it can’t be good for you, but it’s from apples—that means it’s healthy, right? Recommend a book full of characters with questionable morals.

Um, this is like every YA book ever? So, how do I choose? I’ve been sitting here for like 15 minutes trying to come up with an answer, and I have one! City of Brass (the whole trilogy tbh) – basically almost every character. Like, I can rationalize why they do what they do, but some of the choices are straight up “wtf that’s messed up”.

Eggnog: It’s creamy and smooth, with a little spice, and some people even add alcohol to it. Recommend a book that’s mostly fun, with just a hint of danger.

This is another drink that I’m Not A Fan Of, but this prompt is easy. Crave – which, okay has quite a bit of danger, but omfg it’s a lot of fun. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and it’s just a truly enjoyable, a little cringey read.

Gingerbread Latte: A drink with a veritable explosion of spices. Recommend a book with a lot of action.

Also not a gingerbread fan, but Queen of the Shining Sea, book 4 in the Blade and Rose series. This book has so much going on and it’s so, so good. Rielle is a badass and I’m still dying for the next book even though it’s been months since I read it. Waiting for the next one is annoying.

This tag was a lot of fun! I’m not going to tag any specific person, so feel free to do this tag if you want! If you do, do it, please let me know – I’d love to see your responses!
