I just wanted to do a quick shoutout to Sammy over at We Write At Dawn. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet, you really should. I love her posts and her content.
I met Sammy back in 2019 and we clicked instantly and have been friends ever since. Due to this freaking pandemic, I haven’t been able to see her, and I freaking miss going on writing dates and book buying dates. Basically, I just miss hanging out with her. Facetime only goes so far.
Since we both have very similar tastes in books, it’s so nice being able to text her with reactions – especially if she’s already read the book. She does the same to me, and it’s so satisfying to be able to vent to someone who knows. She’s the first person I send book related news to, fan art, or anything bookish.
She’s always there in my corner making me feel better when I’m feeling defeated and dejected. She’s the first to share in any excitement and yell at me to work on my own book so she can read it. She’s also there when I just want to whine or rant to get it out of my system to commiserate.
So, I thought I’d do a little post telling y’all to head over to her blog and to just brag a little about how lucky I am to have her as a friend.
A few of my favorite posts are:
BLOG TOUR + FAVORITE QUOTES: SING ME FORGOTTEN
BLOG TOUR: THE CASTLE SCHOOL (FOR TROUBLED GIRLS) REVIEW + INTERVIEW
ARC REVIEW: A VOW SO BOLD AND DEADLY
FIVE BOOKS I BOUGHT SOLELY BASED ON THEIR COVERS
There are plenty of other amazing posts on her blog, so make sure you check them out. I’d be here all day if I listed all of the posts I’ve really enjoyed.
You should also check out her bookstagram – I love her pictures and the books she features.

I just love that I met her when I did and that we clicked so easily. When I agreed to trade books with her, I never expected for her to live right down the road and for her to become someone I can rely on.
So, this is mainly a shout to Sammy for being awesome, and a shout out for doing this whole blogging thing with me. And y’all should 100% go check out her blog if you haven’t already.
AWWWW ALEXA!!! You’re so sweet, I’m tearing up! I’m so glad to have met you and gained another friend who understands the book nerd/blogging struggle. I miss our coffee/writing dates too – I would kill to be sitting at B&N right now with a latte, 10 books in my cart, and a list of all the things we need to catch up on. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend! ❤

💛💛💛
Okay, when it gets significantly warmer, we’re gonna have to meet up at like a park or something and have a coffee/writing date outside. I need someone to mindlessly talk to while I work out plot issues LOL
Also, the insane amount of catching up. I don’t even know where to start 🙈
