Sept’21 Audible Haul

I know I’m inundating you with audiobook/Audible content. I think this will be the last update for a while – though there might be a separate audiobook haul for October as well. It’s only the 10th and I’ve managed to accumulate quite a few already this month. But we’ll see. If you saw my Audible TBR Update post – then you know I have a plan to get through all of these books.

Though, since I did that post – I’ve tweaked my list a little bit. Are we really surprised? Everything I immediately want to read should now be on it – and I’m honestly not really giving myself the freedom to stray from it. Once I renewed my membership for another year, I had 12 new credits to burn, and burn them I did. I went a little click happy and downloaded and pre-ordered a handful of anticipated reads.

Now the issue is – well it was the issue before, to be honest – but I want to read them all, at once. But obviously that’s not possible – hence the list.

You can check out the updated TBR order – and if you see me straying, yell at me lol.

Seriously. Yell at me and keep me on track.

But let’s take a look at what audiobooks I hauled last month.

A Court of Honey and AshA Court of Honey and Ash (Honey and Ice Trilogy #1) – Shannon Mayer & Kelly St. Clare

Orphaned. Trained to fight. Raised to fear the power of Underhill. Secretly in love with a man who doesn’t want me.

I’m still just Alli, aka the half-human orphan fae, but my life is looking up for the first time. It only took me my whole 24 years.
But when Underhill—the ancestral home of the fae—shatters, making it impossible for any fae to enter, I’m the only one who knows who did it.
A secret that will be the death of me if I do nothing.
A brutal madness spreads through the fae as they lose their connection to Underhill, and to save my people, my only choice is to leave all I have fought for and go on the run.
Unless I figure out how the hell magic that has existed since the dawn of time was destroyed with a single touch, well, an entire life spent fighting to prove myself isn’t going to mean anything at all.

I must find the answer to the riddle of Underhill’s shattering.
Hunted by the very man I loved once upon a time.

Rose Petal Graves: The Lost Clan, Book 1Rose Petal Graves (The Lost Clan #1) – Olivia Wildenstein

Staying away from my lakeside hometown was the plan, but Mom died suddenly. Dad said she suffered a stroke after she dug up one of the ancient Native American graves in our backyard.

Creepy, I know. Creepier still, there was no corpse inside the old coffin, only fresh rose petals.

As we made preparations for her burial, unnervingly odd and beautiful newcomers poured into my small town. A coroner with emerald eyes and black hair, much too young for the job. An arrogant blond socialite, who lived to get under my skin. And a tattooed Native man, who wasn’t supposed to be alive.

By dying, my mother had inadvertently revived an age-old feud between the fae and the tribe that hunted them.

A feud that was about to tear my world apart.

A Touch of Malice: Hades & Persephone, Book 3A Touch of Malice (Hades & Persephone #3) – Scarlett St. Clair

Persephone and Hades are engaged. In retaliation, Demeter summons a snowstorm that cripples New Greece, and refuses to lift the blizzard unless her daughter calls off her engagement.

When the Olympians intervene, Persephone finds her future in the hands of ancient gods, and they are divided. Do they allow Persephone to marry Hades and go to war with Demeter or prohibit their union and take up arms against the God of the Dead?

Nothing is certain but the promise of war.

At least it wasn’t… until some psycho attacked me and woke up the freaky, forbidden magick inside, earning me a one-way ticket to jail.
Now, a covert magickal university is offering me a deal: my freedom in exchange for help with the Tarot prophecies—cryptic predictions they believe hold the key to stopping a deadly apocalyptic plot.
Predictions only I can decipher.
Because the witch who divined them? She died years ago.
I should know. She was my mother.

Grab your grimoires, girls. Magick school’s officially in session.
All I have to do now is master my crazy powers, decode the doomsday prophecies, outwit a mean-girl coven that puts the psycho in psychic, and survive the temptations of one very naughty professor and three scorching-hot, overprotective mages shadowing my every move.
There’s only one problem.

If I’m right about the prophecies?
Survival isn’t in the cards for any of us.
