The Stars are Dying Cover Reveal!

Y’all aren’t ready.

Hell, I wasn’t ready when I saw the email with this cover hit my inbox this morning. I should have timed my posts about Chloe’s An Heir Comes to Rise series (books 1-4 so far) a bit better so you would already have an idea of just how excited I am about this new series she’s getting ready to launch.

But those posts are coming next week, so for now, just know I love her writing, her characters and her world that she created in An Heir Comes to Rise, so I’m so damn excited for this new book/series. It’s a New Adult Dark Romance Fantasy…with explicit spice.

Cover Reveal: A Forgery of Roses

Y’all this cover.

When I saw it in the email, I freaked out. It’s stunning.

I read Sing Me Forgotten last year and really enjoyed it. You give me a Phantom of the Opera retelling; I’m going to eat it up. I instantly became a Jessica S. Olson fan, so imagine my pure excitement when she announced she had a new book coming out?

It was through the roof.

And y’all, it sounds absolutely amazing.

SYNOPSIS:

Myra Whitlock has a gift. One many would kill for.

She’s an artist whose portraits alter people’s real-life bodies, a talent she must hide from those who would kidnap, blackmail, and worse in order to control it. Guarding that secret is the only way to keep her younger sister safe now that their parents are gone.

But one frigid night, the governor’s wife discovers the truth and threatens to expose Myra if she does not complete a special portrait that would resurrect the governor’s dead son. Desperate, Myra ventures to his legendary stone mansion.

Once she arrives, however, it becomes clear the boy’s death was no accident. Someone dangerous lurks within these glittering halls. Someone harboring a disturbing obsession with portrait magic.

Myra cannot do the painting until she knows what really happened, so she turns to the governor’s older son, a captivating redheaded poet. Together, they delve into the family’s most shadowed affairs, racing to uncover the truth before the secret Myra spent her life concealing makes her the killer’s next victim.

From Sing Me Forgotten author Jessica S. Olson comes a gothic fantasy murder mystery perfect for fans of Kerri Maniscalco and Erin A. Craig. (GR)

Cover Reveal: Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer

Okay, I know this was revealed last week when Brigid dropped it early, but I still wanted to post about it on here. I fucking love this cover. I’ve been a fan of all Brigid’s covers (except for those OG Elemental Covers) and this is no exception.

You’ve probably all seen this already, so I’m going to keep this short and sweet.

I’m dying to get my hands on a copy of this book. I’ve been deprived of Brigid’s work for too long – I’m suffering. September is too far away. So who or what do I need to sacrifice to get my hands on a copy?

I just want to read it, scream about it and quietly die until the second book is out.

Is that too much to wish for?

So, like if anyone has a hook up, hit me up. Please?

Anyways. I can’t wait for this book. It sounds amazing, see? Continue reading “Cover Reveal: Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer”

Cover Reveal: Charm

So, if you’ve been around for a while, then you know that I’m a fan of Tracy Wolff’s Crave Series.

I have a few posts about it:

Book Review: Crave

Book Review: Crush (Crave #2)

Book Review: Covet (Crave #3)

Plus, a post where I freak out that I was going to be featured on a Goodreads add for Crave:

I’m on an Ad!

I’m ready for the Vampire and Angel resurgence YA needs, so I’m 100% here for this series. Continue reading “Cover Reveal: Charm”

Cover Reveal – The Crown of Gilded Bones

I know this has technically been out for a while, and then it got a little bit of a makeover, so I’m sure you’ve already seen it. But I’m a big JLA fan and love to hype her books, so here we are. I also just recently reread both From Blood and Ash and A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire and I’m feeling a tad deprived of the world and the characters. My impatience for this book is also through the damn roof, so I’m going to share this cover with you.

Now, if you haven’t yet read From Blood and Ash (and subsequently A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire)

  1. What are you doing with your life?
  2. Please pick up book 1 ASAP

No, seriously. If you’ve read JLA’s other books, this one won’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a new vampire read, this one won’t disappoint. If you’re looking for something to fill the high fantasy hole in your heart, this one won’t disappoint. Overall, it just won’t disappoint. Continue reading “Cover Reveal – The Crown of Gilded Bones”

Cover Reveal – A Deal with the Elf King

Oh, I love doing these posts!

Participating in cover reveals for any and all Elise Kova Books is one of my favorite things (and favorite posts to write). Her covers are always so stunning and pleasing to look at, and y’all this one is no exception.

It’s so pretty and I cannot wait to have a finished copy for my shelves. The aesthetic of her covers are my jam and I love staring at them.

Now, you might be wondering if this is connected to any of her other series – Air Awakens, Air Awakens: Vortex Visions, The Loom Saga or the Wish Quartet – and I’m here to tell you (to the best of my knowledge) NO! It’s a complete standalone novel that’s perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses, Hades and Persephone and Beauty and the Beast!

I mean, I legit couldn’t ask for anything more in a book and if you’ve been around this blog for a while, you already know I’m a big Elise Kova fan. You’ll also know that I’ve been on a fantasy/high fantasy kick and this book is exactly my shit.

Cover Reveal – Grace and Glory (The Harbinger #3)

So, if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram – or follow Jennifer L. Armentrout on either platform as well – then you’ve probably already seen this absolutely stunning cover. And then you probably promptly died thinking about the sheer amount of time we have to wait to be able to find out what Trin and Zayne are going to do next.

I know I am. I’m dying to know what happens next. I need to know what happens next.

JLA continuously delivers amazing books and this series is no exception. I’ve read both Storm and Fury and Rage and Ruin and I can attest that once you start them, you really don’t want to put them down until you finish them.

Cover Reveal: A Trial of Sorcerers!

116699572_2752848015040821_5239672654844405572_oAaandd, we’re back!

Back with another Elise Kova Cover Release, and y’all…once again it does not disappoint.

Now, you might have already seen this gorgeous cover, as it was revealed yesterday. But yesterday I was packing up from vacation, spending a last few precious hours on the beach, and then sitting in a car for like 7.5 hours. Besides posting a bit about the reveal online, I didn’t have time to sit down and write out a whole post gushing over how beautiful this cover is.

But I digress.

I love this cover. I think it’s stunning. Yes, I think that about every new cover that Elise unveils for her books…have you seen her covers? I mean, damn, they are eye catching. I love how they all go together, but all have very distinctive feels as to which series they’re a part of.

We’re back with the next installment in the Air Awakens Universe, and honestly, if you haven’t picked up Air Awakens or Vortex Visions (the first books in their respective series) I don’t know what you’re doing with your life. Elise is a fantastic writer, whose characters and worlds just come to life on the page. These books are books that I can read over and over and over again without being bored. They’re just so good, and you’re really doing yourself a disservice if you haven’t read them yet.

Just saying.

I’m sure you want me to just get to the cover reveal, but good things come to those who wait!

I’ve said this before in my many, many posts about Elise’s books, but you don’t have to start with Air Awakens! You can start with Vortex Visions, or even this new one, A Trial of Sorcerers!

I totally recommend reading them starting with AA and that series, then doing the Golden Guard Trilogy, and then diving into the Vortex Chronicles. Elise does such a fantastic job in establishing the world, the plot and the characters in each respective series, that if you were to start with VV, you wouldn’t be lost! I can’t speak to this new book, but in Elise’s own words (off her Instagram post)

“This is the next book set in the Air Awakens universe. But trust me when I say, new readers can (and I hope some will) start here! It’s a tale of competition, coming of age, distant lands, elemental magic, and romance… perfect for fans of the Legend of Korra and A Sorcery of Thorns!”

There you go! I highly urge and recommend you pick these books up as soon as possible. You’re really missing out.

But let’s dive into what you’re all here for, and it’s probably not my rambling.

Synopsis:

Ice is in her blood.

Seventeen-year-old Waterrunner Eira Landan lives her life in the shadows — the shadow of her older brother, of her magic’s whispers, and of the person she accidentally killed. She’s the most unwanted apprentice in the Tower of Sorcerers until the day she decides to step out and compete for a spot in the Tournament of Five Kingdoms.

Pitted against the best sorcerers in the Empire, Eira fights to be one of four champions. Excelling in the trials has its rewards. She’s invited to the royal court with the “Prince of the Tower,” discovers her rare talent for forbidden magic, and at midnight, Eira meets with a handsome elfin ambassador.

But, Eira soon learns, no reward is without risk. As she comes into the spotlight, so too do the skeletons of a past she hadn’t even realized was haunting her.

Eira went into the trials ready for a fight. Ready to win. She wasn’t ready for what it would cost her. No one expected the candidates might not make it out with their lives.

I mean…HOW COOL DOES THAT SOUND?!?! I’m so excited for this book and I cannot wait to read it. March 2021 is so far away, but fingers crossed Elise does ARCs for this. I’m curious to see what this next AA Universe installment is going to be like, and I can’t wait to meet Eira.

Now, the moment you’ve all be waiting for…if you haven’t already scrolled past everything to see the cover…here is the cover to A Trial of Sorcerers – the next book in the Air Awakens Universe!

It’s S T U N N I N G.

I mean, honestly.

Look. At. It.

I haven’t stopped staring at it since it was revealed yesterday. Knowing what I know of the other books, and how the Vortex Chronicles ended, I’m so excited to go back to this world. Like, I was excited at the mere prospect of another book set in one of my favorite fantasy worlds, but this cover, Eira on the front, the synopsis, the promise this book holds…ooof, my expectations are high and I’m here for it!

I also want to give a quick shout out to the fact that Air Awakens is 5 years old this month! I found these books back when I was still in college, Facebook advertised AA to me, and I immediately bought it. I can’t believe it’s 5 years old, and with that being said, Elise is doing all sorts of fun things to celebrate it!

Cover Reveal! – A Vow so Bold and Deadly

Something really exciting and highly anticipated by me, and everyone else was revealed over the weekend.

screaming gifs Page 3 | WiffleGif

Now, most of you have probably already seen it, but Brigid is a friend and I feel the need to share it on here as well and help her out. Also, as a fan, I can’t keep my cool about this cover. It’s gorgeous, I love it and I’m so damn excited to read it.

I’ve loved every single cover in this series, and with each new one, it becomes my new favorite. I love all the covers in this series and love how they fit together and how they look together.

I remember talking with Brigid back in January – which feels like a lifetime ago – about what the title was and what color the cover could potentially be.

Y’all I freaked out when Brigid told me the title. Like, legit shivers down my spine due to the excitement and anticipation for whatever is to come next.

I mean…A Vow so Bold and Deadly…it holds so much promise…so much pain. To quote Brigid’s most notable gif –

Evil Girl GIFs | Tenor

Ugh, I cannot wait. January 2021 is so far away, though at the speed 2020 is whizzing by, maybe not so much. I’d kill for a chance to read it early.

Pssst, Brigid, can you hook a friend up? Lol

Needless to say, I’m so not upset with the red. I was really hoping for a burgundy/wine red color, and as you will see (or have seen) I’m not disappointed in the slightest.

With all the teasers leading up to Cursebreakers #3, everyone thought the cover was going to be purple, and while purple would have looked good with the blue and green of books 1 & 2 I cannot wait to see the red with them.

Anyways, let’s get to why you’re all here, and why I’m doing this post! The cover!

Though, one last thing…well two last things before we dive in. If you’re interested, you can check out my reviews for A Curse so Dark and Lonely and A Heart so Fierce and Broken.

Synopsis:

Emberfall is torn between those who believe Rhen is the rightful prince and those who are eager to begin a new era under the true heir, Grey. Grey has agreed to wait two months before attacking Rhen, and in that time, Rhen has sought the assistance of a spy despite Harper’s doubts.

Meanwhile, Lia Mara struggles to rule Syhl Shallow with a gentler hand than her mother. But some of her subjects aren’t happy that Lia Mara has an enchanted prince and magical scraver by her side. As Grey’s deadline draws nearer, Lia Mara is forced to question whether or not she can remain allied to his cause.

Drum roll, please!

I now present to you (two days after it’s early release) the cover for Cursebreakers #3 –

A Vow so Bold and Deadly!

img_0061

Jfc, it’s stunning. It hints at Emberfall’s colors…and the crown! My excitement and curiosity for what Brigid has in store for us knows no bounds. I’ve been dying for this book since finishing Heart last year…oh wow, it’s been a year, or a little over one…

I have no doubt that she’s going to make me fall in love with Grey some more, want to protect Tycho – I really hope he has a kitten – I might want to furiously take Rhen by the shoulders and shake him, then give him a hug, and I really can’t wait to see if there’s a potential for a friendship between Harper and Lia Mara. I’m beyond curious and beyond excited for this book, and I know Brigid isn’t going to disappoint!

If you haven’t already, then you should really go read A Curse so Dark and Lonely and then go read A Heart so Fierce and Broken. You have time to get caught up, so do yourself the favor and get on it! If anything, buy the books for solely how pretty they are and how good they look on a shelf.

Janauary 2021 will be here before we know it, and we’ll be diving back into the world of Emberfall with Rhen, Harper, Grey, Lia Mara and Co.

Cover Reveal: Warmaidens (Gravemaidens #2)

CR warmaidensI know that you know what’s going to be contained in this post, and I can assure you that it’s gorgeous. Ever since I saw the cover yesterday, I keep finding myself opening up my Photos on my phone and staring at the cover for Warmaidens the second book in the Gravemaidens Series by Kelly Coon.

Y’all, this cover is gorgeous, and the color is so pretty. I can’t think of any other book out currently, or coming out, that’s this color. So, be prepared for it to stand out on your shelves. I also think that it’s going to look absolutely stunning next to Gravemaidens.
I really enjoyed Gravemaidens and if you haven’t yet read it, you should. A bit of a shameless plug, before we dive into the cover reveal for Warmaidens, but if you want to check out my review for Gravemaidens, you can do so here.

But like I was saying, I really enjoyed the first book, so when the opportunity came to be a part of Kelly’s street team, and participate in the cover reveal, I knew I had to bump today’s planned post, for this one.

This cover is stunning, and you’re not ready, but you should be excited.

Synopsis:

Just a few moons after escaping the tomb in Alu, Kammani and the other runaway maidens have found refuge in the city-state of Manzazu. There, Kammani has become a respected healer, especially among the warriors she’s brought back from the brink of death. Now that the nightmares of Alu are fading, she can finally decide whether or not to take Dagan’s hand in marriage.

But when an assassin murders a healer he believes is Kammani and attempts to kill the displaced queen of Alu, the maidens realize they’ve been found.

Hungry for revenge, Manzazu’s queen wants to strike back at Alu with her fiercest weapons—her scorpion warrior maidens—but Kammani knows that war harms more than it heals. To save the innocents and any chance of a future with Dagan, Kammani must take down Alu’s ruler before their lives burn up in the flames of war.

I can’t wait to read this book, and it should be on your radar.

So, are you ready for the cover reveal?

It’s stunning. I love the maroon color, the vial that I’m guessing is either poison or some kind of remedy, but the black smoke makes me think poison, and the scorpions! Visually I find this cover absolutely gorgeous and I really cannot wait to find out more about how the scorpions fit in.
