NetGalley Sept’21 Update

I’m drowning in eARCs. Don’t ask me how it happened, because I don’t actually know. This post is going to also going to be a bit of a haul post from the last two and a half months. As well as just a typical NG Update post.

I thought I was doing so well, knocking books out, reviewing them, and now I suddenly have 20+ books I need to read and it’s lowkey stressing me out. Stressing me out to the point where I haven’t even touched an eARC for 2 weeks.

And to be fair, I’ve been immersed in my TOG reread and that has pretty much all my focus.

Apart from NetGalley, I’ve also acquired a couple of other eARCs. I’m really excited to read all of these, I just need more hours in a day. Continue reading “NetGalley Sept’21 Update”

June’21 NetGalley/Edelweiss Update

It’s been a minute since I’ve done an eARC/ARC update post. It’s kind of up in the air, EW is still denying me for everything, shocker. And NG is pretty hit or miss. I’m kind of drowning in the feeling of having too many ARCs to read, and I’ve been lowkey waiting for them to come out to do the audiobooks.
I need more hours in a day…or someone to pay me to just read, blog and write full time.

Having to work 8+ hours, come home and do chore crap, and then blog stuff, and reading and maybe writing – I’m exhausted all the time.

But it’s fine. I don’t regret it.

And before I dive into the update on NG and EW, I’m going to quickly list what eARCs/ARC I hauled in May’21. I didn’t include these in my May’21 Haul post, since I knew I was going to be doing this one. So, here they are. Continue reading “June’21 NetGalley/Edelweiss Update”

Mar’21 NetGalley Update

I promised you this post + all the eARCs I hauled in February. I’m not even going to bother including Edelweiss in this update, because nothing – and I mean nothing – I requested was approved. So, I’m just ignoring that.

So, let’s take a look at all the eARC’s I hauled in February. Somehow I managed to acquire quite a few, and I’m honestly not entirely sure how?

Falling Down Under (Seven Sisters Vineyards #1) – Errin Krystal

Faking Reality – Sara Fujimura

Instructions for Dancing – Nicola Yoon

Curse of the Specter Queen – Jenny Elder More

Unwritten (The Zweenshen Chronicles #1) – Alicia J Novo

Go the Distance – Jen Calonita

Better Together – Christine Roccio

The Outlands – Tyler Edwards

The Princess and the Dragon and Other Unlikely Heroes – Francesca Burke

Legacy (Starlatten #3) – Darby Cupid

Most of these are off NetGalley, but a few of them are either gifted to me by the author or part of a blog tour. I’m super excited for these – make sure you check them out! Continue reading “Mar’21 NetGalley Update”

NetGalley & Edelweiss Update – Jan’21

I’ve been knocking books off my NetGalley lists – I got a little (or a lot) behind in the fall, so I’ve made it a priority to get some of these past due ARCs read. But, of course, I continue to request and continue to be denied more often than I’m approved. Which is a bummer.

I’m sitting at an 86% so I don’t quite understand why I legit got way too many denials last week. Almost every day I got an email, or I saw on my account that I’d been declined for a book, and honestly, it doesn’t feel great.

Do I need more books to read?

No, not really since I’m behind on some of the ones I do have.

Do I want more books?
Yes, because omfg there are so many 2021 rom-coms I’m looking forward to and I just want to read them.

Did I also just go on an Edelweiss Requesting spree, even though I know nothing will come of it?

Yes.

And with that being said, let’s take a look at what’s going on in my accounts. Continue reading “NetGalley & Edelweiss Update – Jan’21”

NetGalley and Edelweiss Update – July’20

Let’s just jump right into this.

Edelweiss hates me. It’s the only explanation I have. I’ve never been approved for anything through them – at least not on this account. Having previously no luck with my first account (minus one approval, but that’s a whole other story), a fellow blogger told me to create an account directly tied to my blog.

I did. Created a blog email and everything.

Still, nothing.

I’m constantly declined.

I honestly don’t know why I even bother at this point. Whenever I’m feeling like a glutton for punishment, I request titles on EW.

I’ve been denied within a handful of hours, but I’ve also had titles pending for almost 200+ days.

Over on NetGalley, I have a much better success rate. I currently have the Golden 80% – 82% to be specific, even though it seems to mean absolutely nothing in terms of approvals. It seems to be just some arbitrary number and holds no weight on whether or not you get approved for titles. I was sitting at an 88% for weeks, and I was in pending limbo.

All of the sudden, NG went on a declining spree, so that was fun to see. Tons of titles that I would have loved to have read, denied.

But let’s take a look at what I’ve been approved for:

Denied for:

Probably forever Pending (I’m looking at you Midnight Lie):

And Edelweiss, where hopes go to die:

As you can see, I’ve been pretty freaking lucky on NetGalley. I’m not sure how, but I’m super grateful. I’m bummed that some of the titles I’m super excited for, were declined, but I guess it happens. I’m also absolutely geeked that I got approved for titles that Edelweiss denied me for. It feels like a giant F U to them. Now, if NetGalley would just approve me for Blood & Honey that would be perfect!

What do your NetGalley and/or Edelweiss accounts look like? Do you have the coveted 80% reviewer rating? Does Edelweiss love you? Let me know! What book do you want to be approved for so badly, that you would sell your soul if that were an option?

I really want Blood & HoneyCrush and A Vow So Bold And Deadly.

NetGalley Update – Apr’20

I’ve been trying to read through a bunch of NetGalley releases, since Warmaidens and Majesty are up for request – I’m trying to give my reviewer rating a boost before I request.

So, I figured now would be a good time for a little mini NetGalley Update – what’s currently on my shelf, and what’s pending.

I haven’t requested Warmaidens or Majesty yet, since I want to give myself the best chance possible, and I’m so close to that supposed magical 80%.

So, here is what I’ve been approved for –

I have my next few books already planned out, Nightborn, Sunshield and then Shielded.

Then my focus will be on the other 2 June releases. Hopefully after those three books, my rating will be high enough to give me the best chance at being approved for Warmaidens and Majesty.

These are the books that are still pending –

Honestly, my hope isn’t super high, I definitely don’t think I’ll be approved for the second Camelot Rising book, and The Midnight Lie is already out. But I’ve been surprised before, so I’m not entirely discounting it, I’m just keeping my expectations low.
