4 Books That I Just Pre-Ordered

I love pre-ordering books, but I hardly ever do it way in advance.

If bookstores would take the money off my card when I place the order – I’d feel differently. But since the funds never leave until the book is shipped – I don’t. I hate having to make sure that there is enough money on my card and/or I have the money in my budget.

But if you tell me, it’s an exclusive edition, or that there is an insanely good pre-order incentive – I’m more inclined regardless.

These four books have Exclusive Barnes & Noble Editions – so you know I snatched them up really quickly. I wasn’t sure if there were limited amounts, and honestly – I learned my lesson with A Court of Silver Flames. So, I bit the bullet and pre-ordered them all way in advanced. Now, I was planning on pre-ordering them to begin with, just closer to their respective release dates. And you know I’m keeping my receipts since I’m sure there are going to be pre-order incentives!

I’m really excited for all of these books. I can’t wait to see them on my shelves, in person and I really can’t wait to read them. I highly recommend that if you like collecting various editions and/or covers you get to pre-ordering. I don’t know how many of the BN Editions are available for each.

But let’s take a look at the four books I broke my Pre-Ordering rule for! Continue reading “4 Books That I Just Pre-Ordered”

Genre: Fantasy Paranormal Romance

I finally have the life I always dreamed of. So why does it taste like ash on my tongue?

Growing up in Torma, the strongest of the shifter packs, I wanted nothing more than to find my true mate and live my best life. Of course, that dream existed before my father betrayed the pack and turned me into their punching bag.

I’d all but given up, until a quirk of true mate genetics gifted me a true mate like no other.

It seems my childhood dreams were finally a reality. Funny how quickly dreams turn into nightmares.

I’m being lied to and missing weeks and months of time. Someone messed with me and no matter how often I’m told to forget it and move on as Torin’s mate, there’s no way I can. Whoever did this to me should have known I’d pick at it until it bled. It’s my nature after all.

As I search out random growls, flutters in my chest, and a suspicion that there’s so much more going on than I could even imagine, I sense that I’m racing against an unknown clock.

I need to get to the bottom of this mystery.

And when I figure out who stole my memories, they’re going to wish they never messed with Mera Callahan.

Game on.

Steal a bride. Save the library. Try not to die.

But Basil never expected to find a human girl waiting for him, wanting to get snatched. Nor had he expected a girl like Meg, an illiterate farmgirl who has no use for books.
With the barrier with the Realm of Monsters wearing thin and the chaos of Midsummer Night about to descend, will this unlikely pair put aside their differences long enough to save the Great Library from destruction? And maybe find a spark of love along the way.

3 Books That Hit My Radar #26

I told you I had more books to share!

They’re seemingly popping out of the woodwork, so here we are! I’m going to keep this intro short and sweet as I want to dive into Daughter of Sparta before I go to bed. So, make sure you add these books to your TBRs.

All three of these books caught my eye due to their covers – because I mean, look at them.

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria #1) – Kay L. Moody – I’m all for elemental magic, and competitions, and high stakes. This sounds amazing, and I can’t wait to dive in.

Kingdom of Rebels and Thorns (The Aermian Feuds 1&2) – Frost Kay – from my understanding this is a new bind-up of the first two Aremian books, which have been on my radar for a while. The series sounds really interesting and right up my alley, and I might have to finally dive in and see what it’s all about.

King of Battle & Blood (King of Battle & Blood #1) – Scarlett St. Clair – I mean…I mean…come on! I want this in my hands right now. I love her Hades & Persephone books, and this is vampires!! It’s an arranged (political) marriage and she wants to kill him. And they have chemistry! So it’s enemies to lovers? Or just Enemies with Benefits? Either way, I’m sold.

If you have read any of these, let me know! Continue reading “3 Books That Hit My Radar #26”

Samantha Knox put away her childish fantasies of archaeological adventure the day her father didn’t return home from the Great War, retreating to the safety of the antique bookshop where she works. But when a mysterious package arrives with a damaged diary inside, Sam’s peaceful life is obliterated. Ruthless men intent on reclaiming the diary are after Sam, setting her and her best friend, along with her childhood crush, on a high-stakes adventure that lands them in the green hills outside Dublin, Ireland. Here they discover an ancient order with a dark purpose – to perform an occult ritual that will raise the Specter Queen, the Celtic goddess of vengeance and death, to bring about a war unlike any the world has ever seen. To stop them, Sam must solve a deviously complex cipher – one that will lead her on a treasure hunt to discover the ancient relic at the heart of the ritual: a bowl carved from the tree of life. Will she find the bowl and stop the curse of the Specter Queen, or will the ancient order bring about the end of the world?

Indiana Jones gets a refresh with this female-driven mystery adventure, set in the 1920s, full of ciphers, ancient relics, and heart-stopping action – the first in a brand-new series!

3 Books that Hit My Radar #25

It was actually kind of hard to choose which 3 books to feature in this post. Some really amazing sounding and eye-catching books have…caught my eye recently. I’m obviously going to do another post featuring other books, but these three books sound really amazing.

There already in my cart, just waiting for me to click “buy” – I’m waiting until I get paid on Friday. Then all bets are off. Between stunning covers and just really great sounding premises – I really cannot wait to read these books. I don’t want to wait, so if someone wants to hook me up…just kidding…though, also not really.

I highly recommend you putting them on your TBR, making sure they stay on your radar. For the covers alone, they deserve shelf space.

She Who Rides the Storm – Caitlin Sangster – the cover immediately drew me in, and then the excitement kept building as I read the synopsis. September can’t come soon enough.

Song of the Forever Rains (The Mousai #1) – E.J. Mellow – I mean, just look at this cover and tell me you’re not intrigued. Thank goodness it comes out next month – the wait is almost over!

The Goddess of Nothing At All (Unwritten Runes #1) – Cat Rector – my chill is utterly non-existent when I think of this book. October is too far away; I desperately want to read this right now.

If these are only a small sample of books coming out the second half of the year, I’m going to be broke. But you know what, I’m not even concerned. Bring it on. I have no self-control when it comes to books with stunning covers. But seriously, add these to your TBR – I really don’t think they’re going to disappoint. Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag 2021

I can’t believe that we’re already in June.

How the fuck is it already June?

I swear we’ve entered into the movie Click, and someone is just hitting the fast forward button, because again, how the fuck is it June?

Now I’m having a crisis because we’re halfway through the year and that’s insane. I simultaneously feel like time is speeding by, but also not moving at all. Nothing changes, everything is just the same monotonous repetitive cycle day in and day out. Thank goodness for books – otherwise I don’t know what I would do with myself.

This tag was created by Chami, but I stumbled back upon it over on Truffle’s Literary Wonders – make sure you check out Emika’s post! I did this tag last year and really loved it, so I figured I would do it again this year! I’m not going to tag anyone in particular, but if you do, do this tag, feel free to tag me so I can check out your answers!

Let’s dive in! Continue reading “Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag 2021”
